As a therapist I strive to be as genuine and authentic as possible with my clients. Over the years, I have helped people through a myriad of struggles like anxiety, depression, death and loss, disordered eating, family and friend challenges, and more. I would be honored to help you through whatever challenges you are facing. I bring authenticity, hope, compassion, warmth, and humor into each session.
At Sage Grove Counseling, I believe that everyone has the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health, and that therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance.
As humans there are times when we can all feel stuck by the challenges, difficulties, and confusion that come our way. Coming to terms with all of these issues takes time, determination, and a helping hand. Let me be that helping hand to help you navigate a way out of whatever struggles you are facing.
Shannon Adler
Hello! My name is Ashley Smith. I was born and raised in Fayetteville, AR. I left Fayetteville for about 3 years and moved to Jonesboro, AR to attend Arkansas State University, where I got my Bachelor's degree in Sociology. I enjoyed my time at A-State, but I longed for the mountains, nature, and overall vibe of Fayetteville. I ended up coming back to Fayetteville and attending the University of Arkansas and obtained my Master's Degree in Counseling.
During my time at the U of A, I learned about culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate approaches to counseling. I also learned about myself and how I fit into the role of counselor.
After my academic journey concluded, I have spent time as a school counselor for both elementary students as well as teenagers. My experiences with both of these populations taught me that while people are all different, there is a beautiful sameness that runs through us all. Every person needs connection and through connection can build a robust sense of self.
Currently, I am enjoying finding my path and expecting what will come next for me. I spend most of my days enjoying a good book, my cat, Prudence, good friends, sunshine, and weaving connections with those around me.
